“Thankful Thoughts”
When the Holiday season approaches, we also know the end of the year is near. Some of us get anxious about what’s to come while others of us become fixated on what we went through over the last 11 months. If you find yourself going through this during this period of the season, it’s a time to reflect and take care of yourself mentally. The University of Michigan offers some tips on how to keep our balance. One big recommendation includes the following:
Surround yourself with good people. According to their findings, having a strong and supportive system is a very important way to remain healthy.
Can’t spend Thanksgiving Day with family or friends? Safely share the holiday spirit with strangers. Take a look around your community for volunteer opportunities. Giving back and donating to the hungry and homeless during this time is one of the best feelings you can experience. As you bless others, you are blessing yourself.
