May 22, 2024 – Detroit-The Impact Network, the 100% Black-founded and operated independent multi-platform cable network, the premier home for Black family and community entertainment, today announced the exclusive broadcast premiere of its first-ever music honors special, the Impact SOAR Awards, in partnership with SOAR Radio, airing on June 17th at 8 pm EST.

Premiering during Juneteenth Week, which is celebrated each year on June 19th to commemorate the date the last enslaved African Americans in Texas were informed of their freedom in 1865, over two years after the signing of the Emancipation Proclamation, and in recognition of Black Music Month, a dynamic celebration honoring the deep impact of Black music on global culture and society, the SOAR Awards spotlights the musical innovation and cultural shifts driven by Black artists while also acknowledging and appreciating the contributions of Black musicians across various genres, past and present.

Impact Network Founder and CEO Wayne T. Jackson commented “As the Founder and CEO of Impact Network it’s always our desire to lift up those in our community who made great contributions in our lives, honoring gospel legends through heartfelt tributes not only preserves their contributions but also inspires future generations.
